Dear 7th Grade Families,

Welcome to the beginning of a new school year!  I am so excited for school to get started!  Our theme for the year is “Joy:Fully In Christ.”  I am excited to be able to share the gospel of Christ as well as teaching math, science, literature, and all of the rest with your students!

We have a number of things coming up in the next week and I just wanted to pass on some information to help the year get off to a smooth start.

Monday night we have our New Family Orientation at 5:00 p.m. and the Ice Cream Social from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  This will also be a time for students to bring in supplies and get them organized in their lockers and art boxes.  I have assigned lockers for students to use and set out books in the classroom as well.  Those of you who ordered the supply kits they are in the classroom waiting for you.  We will use the same organizational plan as last year with the expandable folders.  I have attached a copy of the plan to help get it set up.

On Monday, there will also be information from the office in the classroom for you.  Please make sure to come to the classroom with your student to pick it up.  There are forms that the office needs to be filled out before school starts and you can get them taken care of in the classroom.

Forms to turn in: (If you have not filled new ones out for the upcoming year)

  • Family Information Sheet

  • Student health history

  • High Electives sheet

  • Technology Use Contract

  • …and, even our first Pizza Day forms!

Wednesday will be our first day of school and we have a full day!  We will be going over school and classroom rules, procedures, and getting started with all of our classes.  We have our opening Chapel service at 9:30 a.m. and we would love it if you could attend.  If you need something to do in-between drop off and Chapel, we are having a Tissues and Treats event from 8:20-9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning!

Last, but not least, I am looking for a few room parents to help with various Jr. High and 7th-grade events that we need help with throughout the year.  If you would be able to help and could be a room parent please talk to me on Monday night or send me an email.

If you have any questions, you can contact me via email at

God’s blessings on your last few days of summer vacation!  I look forward to seeing all of you on Monday!

In Christ,

Mr. Johnson
