Bethany Lutheran School serves families with children from Preschool 2 through 8th grade who want an excellent educational experience in a nurturing environment. In our 93 years of exemplary education, Bethany’s strength has always been an outstanding faculty and staff who are dedicated to delivering a well-rounded academic program with a strong curriculum in literacy, math, science, religion and history. In addition, our students also benefit from instruction by specialists in the area of Music, Art, Band, Drama, Physical Education, and Spanish. Consistently, Bethany Lutheran School significantly exceeds the national averages in test scores at all levels.

Here are the answers to a few Frequently Asked Questions:
Are there uniforms? No, we have a standard dress code, but students choose what they would like to wear.
What are your school hours? Our doors open at 8:20 am, and class begins at 8:40 am. Preschool dismisses at 11:20, 1:20, or 3:20, and our Day School dismisses at 3:30 pm.
Are your teachers licensed? Yes, all our full-time teachers have their teaching license, and half our staff have their Masters.
Is Bethany accredited? Yes, we are accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Association. Please see the bottom of the page for more information about our most recent accreditation in 2023.
Where do your 8th graders go to High School? About 1/2 of our graduates attend local public High Schools, where as 1/2 of our students attend various Parochial High Schools such as Benet, Joliet Catholic Academy, Yorkville Christian, and St. Francis.
Do you provide Hot Lunch? Preschool students bring a packed lunch and snack. Kindergarten through 8th grade has the option of purchasing a hot lunch or can bring a packed lunch and snack. We also have various hot lunch days that support our 6th grade trip to Walcamp and our 8th grade class trip.
Do you offer extra curriculars? Yes, we offer Band, Musicals/Dramas, Basketball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Track, and Cross Country as well as various after school clubs and activities.
Do you offer Before and After Care? Yes, we offer Before Care starting at 7:15 am and After Care that goes until 6 pm. It’s for anyone in the Preschool 3s through 8th grade and can be used on an “as-needed” basis. You will be billed twice per month for hours used.
