Lutheran Schools Week is off to a great start!

What better way to start Lutheran Schools Week than to have our students here singing in church! Students and staff could either come to the 8:30 or the 11 AM service to sing a hymn written specifically with the theme of With Endurance Run Your Race:

“Saints of every race and nation, lift your voices, hands, and hearts to the Lord, who grants salvation, who from us shall never depart. Praise the Father, Son, and Spirit, who through water and the Word, calls us, keeps us, ever faithful in the true faith God’s conferred. “

We love our dads, uncles, grandpas, and special friends!

Just a few darling pics from today’s Dad and Donuts! We are so thankful for our dads, uncles, grandpas, and men who help to raise these precious children. We also want to thank everyone who provided donations and served to make this event a wonderful success! We could never do this without our amazing PTL! #bethanyproud #endure

The telling of Christ's birth is the best night of the year

Thank you to the parents, students, and alumni for such a beautiful telling of the birth of Christ. God be praised! #bethanyproud

All the feels!

All the Preschool feels: the day before Christmas break…in jammies…decorating ginger bread cookies…. Couldn’t love it more! #bethanyproud

Last home basketball game!

The last home game of the year was so much fun! Both our boys JV and girls JV basketball teams played their hearts out! We love starting sports at a younger age (4th, 5th, 6th) so that the kids can practice giving glory to God rather than focusing on wins and losses. Our cheerleaders provided some incredible team spirit! We also honored the Varsity State Championship Volleyball Team by unveiling their banner. God be praised! #bethanyproud #endure

The sweetest Christmas program

Is there anything sweeter than children singing the Lord's praises? Bethany Lutheran School Naperville, IL's preschool students were just so darling at their Preschool Christmas Program! We thank Mrs. Downs for putting together such a beautiful program, the preschool teachers for their dedication, and the parents for being so supportive.

Big thank you to P is for Party for the gorgeous photo backdrop, and https://lanapshyk.my.canva.site/ for capturing these precious moments.

We hope and pray that during this Advent season your hearts and minds are preparing for the coming of Jesus at Christmas! God's blessings! #bethanyproud #endure

We have never felt more welcome!

A deep dive into Egypt

What an exciting week in 6th grade Humanities!

Our students dived deep into the world of ancient Egypt by reading The Egypt Game , exploring its fascinating culture, history, and mysteries. After learning about mummies, pyramids, and pharaohs, they wrapped up the lesson with a hands-on activity—mummifying stuffed animals!

It was a creative and fun way to bring ancient Egypt to life. They will bring everything to completion with a writing essay. What a great way to end our journey into this incredible civilization! #bethanyproud #endure

Creating our own Macy's Day Parade

Creative Collaboration for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Our 4th and 8th graders teamed up to bring their imaginations to life after reading Balloons over Broadway. Inspired by the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, they worked together to design and create their very own floats!

From brainstorming ideas to crafting colorful, creative designs, every student put their heart and soul into bringing their float vision to life. We couldn't be more proud of their teamwork and creativity! #bethanyproud #endure

The first snowfall of the year!

There’s a sense of joy and wonder as our younger students experience the magic of snow for the first time this year!

Cutest little raccoons!

Today at Bethany Lutheran, our little ones had so much fun making adorable raccoon masks! It was such a joy to see their creativity shine as they crafted these fun animal masks, all while learning about God's creation and the beauty of the world around us. It’s amazing to watch them grow in both their faith and their creativity. What a wonderful way to celebrate the world God made, one crafty raccoon at a time!

Civil War History

Our 8th graders at Bethany Lutheran School Naperville, IL have been diving deep into the Civil War, exploring not just the history but also the daily lives of those who lived through it. As part of their studies, they got the chance to taste history by preparing authentic Civil War-era foods!

Union Hardtack: Simple but sturdy, this hard biscuit was a staple for Union soldiers. The students learned how this simple, hard cracker helped sustain troops during long marches and difficult times.

Confederate Johnny Cakes: A cornmeal flatbread, this was a common food for Confederate soldiers. Our students worked together to make this classic Southern dish, experiencing a little bit of what life might have been like on the homefront.

These hands-on lessons bring history to life in such meaningful ways, and we're proud of how our 8th graders are making connections between the past, faith, and their own lives.

3rd grade Writers Tea!

Today we enjoyed the Writer’s Tea presentations by our 3rd graders! The students researched and read biographical information, created storyboards, prepared speeches, and dressed up as their character. The kindergarten through eighth grade students came down to encourage them and to learn some new facts! Way to go 3rd grade! (Check out the picture of Miss Clasen when she was in 3rd grade!!)
