Alumni in the News! BIG congratulations to Bethany alumna Katie on entering the Doctorate program and participating in the White Coat Ceremony!

She is in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at St. Louis University. The white coat represents the step from undergrad to graduate and entering the clinical/professional phase. She will be at SLU for the next 2.5 years doing classes and clinicals at different sites.

Katie, you will bless so many people in your profession. We will continue to pray for God's grace in your life as you finish out your school career. We are so proud of you!

🎉ALUMNI IN THE NEWS🎉 Congratulations to Michael, Bethany Lutheran Class of 2022! Michael will be attending Hillsdale College in the Fall of 2026. 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧!!!! Over his four years at Yorkville Christian High School, Michael has developed a passion for sport of Track & Field. He has worked extremely hard to develop his skills and tried several events including pole vaulting. As a result, He currently holds school records in the 110m & 300m hurdles, as well as the 4x100m & 4x400m relays.

In relfecting on the past, his favorite Bethany memory was the Class Trip to St. Louis. The teacher with the biggest impact on Michael was Mr. Savlino, his Algebra teacher.

Michael's Favorite Bible Verse is John 15:13: Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. He referenced this verse in his valedictorian speech.

Dear Bethany Luthren School,

We wanted to let you know how grateful to you we are for Bethany Lutheran School's role in shaping our daughter Hailey into a young woman of faith and service. The Lord has given her a helpful spirit, which she has chosen to use by tutoring children and working for a local physical therapist. Bethany's school and staff played a huge part in helping us parents build that foundation of faith in God within her heart.

Hailey still fondly recalls her favorite memories at Bethany Lutheran School—week at Walcamp and the inspiring guidance of her favorite teachers, Mrs. Dunwell, Mr. Baganz, and Mrs. Staunch. These experiences helped shape the person she is today.

Hailey is graduating from Hinsdale Central High School this year with impressive honors: Magna Cum Laude, Seal of Biliteracy, Illinois State Scholar, a 5.7 GPA, and National Honor Society membership. She played volleyball throughout her high school years and has developed a passion for biomedical engineering, particularly in neuroengineering, imaging, and prosthetic design.

This fall, Hailey heads to Purdue University beginning as a Sophomore in the Biomedical Engineering program. We are forever grateful for all the teachers and staff at Bethany Lutheran School and all that you have done for our family.

From Kinder to 8th grade and beyond!

Alyssa attended Bethany from kindergarten - 8th grade and graduated from Bolingbrook High School this past May. While in high school, Alyssa participated in theater all four years working on the sound crew, was a member of The Word (a student-led Bible study), and was a member of Art Club.  She had multiple art pieces displayed in the Art Show the last three years and also won an Honorable Mention on one of her digital art pieces.  

Alyssa will be attending Trinity Christian College in the fall where she will be studying Art Therapy.  She hopes to use her God-given gifts of creativity to help others.  

While at Bethany, Alyssa enjoyed Mr. Bremer's teaching style as well as his friendly attitude toward the students. One of her favorite Bethany memories is racing him in the rafts down the river on the 8th grade class trip!  She also credits Mr. Johnson for introducing her to drawing techniques in the anime style, a style which shows up in much of her artwork.

A favorite Bible verse is Psalm 98 (the whole thing!) but in particular verse 1a: "Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!"

Congratulations to our Class of 2025!

As we head into May, our 8th graders are starting to focus on the next steps in their education and spiritual journey. Many of our students will be confirmed this upcoming weekend. They are getting ready for their class trip, their last curriculum fair, their last day of school, and their graduation.

Seven of these students attended Bethany's Kindergarten; six of them have been here from Kindergarten - 8th grade. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝟵𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀｡

Graduating early!!

Alumni in the News! Kalel attended Bethany from Preschool through 8th graduation. The education and friendships he had assisted him in his pursuit of finishing high school at Naperville North in 3 years. He set a goal and was able to achieve his graduation this year and will be attending Joliet Junior college pursing Architecture.

Wow, Kalel! Finishing high school in three years is quite an accomplishment! You are such a bright young man, dedicated to the service of others. Hope attended Bethany from Kindergarten-8th grade and graduated from Plainfield North where she has been working in the after school program through the YMCA. She has a passion for teaching the early childhood population, especially children with special needs. She will continue her education at Iowa State as an Early Childhood major and also taking prerequisites in Occupational Therapy. Her favorite memories were from Walcamp where she remembers connecting with her classmates and developing great friendships. Her favorite Bible Verse is Psalm 27:14: "Wait for the Lord be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"

Congratulations to the Burns Family!

Alumni in the News!Jack graduated from ISU with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. He will return to ISU in August to pursue his Master’s in Accounting. He also roomed with fellow BLS alum Jeremy Stehle for 3 years. Joe will be attending West Virginia University this August, Grace will be a senior at Waubonsie HS and our Pete will be a freshman. We loved our time at Bethany!

Senior Spotlight! Corban has had a great 4 years at Naperville Central! He's spent time volunteering at various Mission Trips in Michigan and Wisconsin, repairing and repainting houses. He's about to leave for Mexico to build houses with his Youth Group! So far his favorite class was his automotive class where he learned how to dismantle and put together engines, transmissions, and axels. His dream would be to design and work on Nascars. His

favorite memory of Bethany was Walcamp because of the connections made with the rest of the class. He'd like to thank Mrs. Dunwell for being like the "class mom." This fall brings College of DuPage where he'll continue his automotive training as well as playing the guitar.

Corban, we are so proud of all the ways you've shown love to friends and strangers alike, and we cannot wait to see how God uses you in this next chapter of your life! God's richest blessings to you!!

Senior Spotlight! Alex attended Joliet Catholic Academy where she was an Honors student and inducted into the National Honor Society her Junior and Senior year. She ran track, played tennis and played volleyball. She was involved in the Medical Science Club, ACDC (Accepting Cultural Diversity Club) and volunteered at St. Joesph Hospital and Bolingbrook Hospital throughout high school. Alex will be attending Loyola University in Chicago accepted into the Pre-Med/Neuroscience program. She says she is excited to finally be on a path to becoming a doctor!

From Alex: I loved Bethany School I was very prepared for high school, I never felt like I lacked in any subject and actually felt like I was more prepared in some subjects. I made some lasting friendships at Bethany and for that I’m thankful! My favorite memory is still Walcamp it was so much fun to bond with my friends and we had a blast! 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐌𝐬. Jill and Tom: As parents we never once regretted our decision to send our child to Bethany. It surpassed all of our expectations (and from parents of an only child…you can only imagine-LOL). Every teacher and staff member were accessible and communication was top notch! She is thriving as she enters into her next step of college and we attribute much of that to her primary years.
