We definitely had a lot of fun last week during Lutheran Schools Week! We even came close to winning the penny wars, the students were very excited about that :) Click below to see some of our fun!

We had a visit from Karen Ritter of Karen's Nature Tales today! We had a lot of fun learning all about birds and the different beaks they have. We will be taking an especially close look at the chick's beaks and feet now when they hatch in a few weeks :) Mrs. Ritter showed us the beak of a woodpecker, great horned owl, flamingo, toucan, penguin and a duck. We also got to feel real turkey feathers and real feet of different ducks and birds! What a great morning!
We did a science experiment this week called Brushing Eggs. Since we are learning about teeth we wanted to see if drinking different colored beverages would cause any changes to our teeth. The hard boiled eggs acted as our teeth. First we discussed the materials and procedure for the experiment, then made our hypothesis. Next, we experimented! We placed eggs in coffee, juice, soda and water then let them soak overnight. We were shocked to see what happened the the eggs the next day! After recording what we observed we had to brush the eggs with a toothbrush and toothpaste! That was the best part :) Take a look at some of the pictures below to see our experiment in progress and the results!
Here are a few pictures of the fun that we had during our party, lots of snacks, games and crafts!
We had a blast celebrating the 100th day of kindergarten! We made 100th day crowns that had 100 stickers, colored 100th day glasses, added 100 'gumballs' to our gumball machines (painted dots with 10 different colors), created a 100th day trail mix with 10 different foods, and had centers making creations using 100 solo cups, 100 pattern blocks, 100 legos and 100 Fruit Loops to make a necklace! Look at some of the pictures below to see the fun we had!
Since our field trip was rained out, we had some fun in school decorating pumpkins, tasting apple fritters and watching a fall movie!
