Describe the path to your current vocation.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher at 5 years of age. I loved all things related to teaching, especially the school supplies! It seemed only natural to go to Concordia Chicago once I graduated from high school.
When did you become a Lutheran?
I became a Lutheran when I was baptized into the faith at 3 months of age. I had just arrived in the country, and my pastor wanted me to be baptized immediately in case something happened to me.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that for many children, I am their first teacher in a school setting. I try and make their experience happy by building their confidence, and making sure they feel loved by me and their Savior Jesus Christ.
What was your longest or most favorite road trip?
The farthest I traveled growing up was to Nashville, Indiana. So, my favorite trip of all time would have to be driving to Florida a short time after I was married. Stopping along the way and seeing places I had only heard about was fascinating. We had just purchased a brand new Honda Civic, and we felt on top of the world!
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy baking, organizing, running, entertaining, and spending time with friends and family.
