Describe the path to your current vocation.

I always wanted to be a teacher from a very early age! I had several very good elementary teachers that had a positive influence on me.

When did you become a Lutheran?

My husband, Dave, grew up in the Lutheran Church and even attended a Lutheran School thru 8th grade. I started going to church with him when we were first married. Soon I began taking classes at St. John Wheaton with Pastor Laesch. I guess you could say that I was very enlightened by him and became convinced that I wanted to be a part of the church. We moved to Dallas, TX and I finished classes there and was confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in 1980.

What do you love most about your job?

Instructing children especially in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a joy and very rewarding. I have been on staff at Bethany off and on for the past 20 years at different positions. I appreciate all the opportunities that I have been given and truly enjoyed every one of them. I have seen many staff members come and go, but ALL of them have been a joy to work with. I have never worked with a more dedicated group of professionals.

What was your longest or most favorite road trip?

This is an easy question. It has to be the trip I took with my sister and 88 year old dad, who past away June of 2016. We drove him to his new winter home in March of 2015. We stopped many places along the way, but the highlight of the trip was the Grand Canyon which was #1 on my dad's bucket list. It was a memorable trip that I will cherish for many years to come!

What are your hobbies?

I LOVE to read...especially historical fiction! My husband and I inherited my dad's boat and we love spending time on it. I also spend as much time as possible with my 3 grandchildren.
