Describe the path to your current vocation.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University and my Master’s Degree from National Louis University. I was a nurse before I went into teaching. I enjoy working with children. It is very rewarding to see them learn new skills. I also like to help students with special needs. I am very glad to see them succeed at tasks that they thought were too difficult for them to master.

When did you become a Lutheran?

I became a Lutheran when I got married to my husband in 1996. He was a Lutheran and was an elder in the church. I became involved in the church as well, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is how rewarding it is. I feel so blessed to help students learn new skills and more about Jesus. My students put a smile on my face every day with the things they say and their enthusiasm.

What was your longest or most favorite road trip?

My favorite road trip was out to Arizona from Illinois. I grew up in the Midwest and had never seen such beautiful scenery before. I love the mountains! I ended up going to college in Arizona and I also worked as a teacher. I lived there for almost ten years.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are reading, travel, riding my bike and playing piano.
