School tours typically last between 45 minutes to an hour. Parents check in with the Admissions Director, and will present their driver’s license to access a visitor’s sticker. Prospective parents will meet with the Admissions Director to go over a packet of information, including Bethany’s mission statement, tuition, gradelevel-specific curricula, a typical yearly calendar, and more. Finally, families will see the classrooms, gymnasium, sanctuary, playground, music room, art room, and lunchroom. Parents can choose to bring children to the first tour or come alone, but the children should tour at some point before enrollment becomes official.

Yes. Bethany offers shadow days for incoming 1st through 8th grade students. First-grade shadow days may be full or half days, while 2nd–8th grade shadow days are full-day experiences. These generally take place in April and May, once the enrollment process is nearly complete.

There are many different options for preschool. 5 day full-day preschool costs $9,113 for the 2026-2027 school year, and is paid over a 10 month period. Full-day Kindergarten through 8th grade costs $7,993 per year, with a $500 registration fee and additional Bethany Lutheran School fees.

• BAND: 4th grade - 8th grade through the Walther Grade School Instrumental Program; Students receive weekly private 20-minute or 30-minute small group lessons at school during the day from professional trained musicians with advanced degrees. Students can participate in Monday Night Band at Walther Academy with 13 other area schools. There are 2 concerts per year and a biennial festiva.

• MUSICALS & PLAYS: Each year Bethany alternates between an Elementary 1st - 5th grade musical (with 4th and 5th grade students trying out for a speaking part while the 1st - 5th graders participate in a chorus), and a 5th - 8th grade play. Parents are welcomed to assist with costumes, make-up, and set creation.

• SCHOLA CANTORUM:  (which translates from Latin to English as “Singing School”) is a children’s choir opportunity is open to all Bethany Church and School members of third through eighth grade age. Rehearsals are on Monday of each week, from 3:40-4:30 p.m. Service-singing commitments will take place approximately once per month.

There are many benefits to a school that spans 12 years of education. For preschool parents entering Kindergarten, there is a sincere comfort in knowing the building, the staff, and the culture of the Kindergarten classroom. Parents will already have developed a relationship with the Kindergarten teacher and aide, and the students will already have friends in the class. Drop-off on the first day of school is a breeze as it’s a continuation of life at Bethany!

There’s a similar familiarity for 5th grade students entering Middle School. While the responsibilities and privlileges become greater in Middle School, Bethany students enjoy the continuous and stable environment that reduces transition stress and deepens their relationships. 6th grade students avoid the “academic dip” of attending a new school and learning new routines and procedures. Bethany teachers are already familiar with the students’ academic abilities, strengths, and weaknesses and can immediately challenge students at an appropriate level.

Overall, older students benefit from real leadership and mentoring opportunities, while younger students look up to older students as role models. There are many ways for parents to be as involved as they like. We love to partner with parents! Our Parent Teacher League (PTL) allows parents to plan and excute many different events such as Trunks N’ Treats, Moms & Muffins, Dads & Donuts, the Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Bowling, the Gala & Auction, and Grandparents Day. Room Parents plan out the class Christmas Parties and Valentine’s Day Parties. Small Groups such as Fruitful Families give parents the time to meet with one another and our Pastor in real-life meaningful relationships. Parents volunteer for concessions for sports and fundraising. There’s a place for everyone who wants to be involved.

Students are with us for so many years that it’s truly hard to say goodbye! Our alumni frequently come back to our Christmas Programs, sporting competitions, and Sunday services simply to say hello and visit with their former teachers.
