After reading the story Tara and Tiree: Fearless Friends, and learning about rescue dogs and service dogs, we got to meet two of the therapy dogs from the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dogs program. There are 130 dogs nationwide and they travel to areas after disasters, and visit nursing homes, schools, and hospitals to simply be a comfort to people who are hurting or need cheering up.
