We had a busy week, with lots of practice learning about force and motion, and participating in force and motion activities! This week’s pictures include:
Lever lab: experimenting with the fulcrum to find a balance point, then changing the distance from the fulcrum to the load to see how that effected the amount of force we needed to use to lift the object.
Royal Run on Tuesday morning
Kona Ice treat Tuesday afternoon
Writing contest winner Chase!
Math lab: we each wrote a survey question and answer choices, then went around to our classmates’ desks to tally our answer. Finally, we returned to our own desks to total the results and create a bar graph to show the data!
Inclined plane lab: we rolled marbles down the ramp to experience gravity. Then, we faced the “Uphill Battle Challenge” and had to get the marble up the ramp without touching it. While we came up with some creative attempts, we learned it wasn’t possible. This demonstrates that God is at the top of the ramp, we are the marble, and gravity is sin. Sin pulls us away from God and we can’t get back on our own. We need Jesus, or in this case, help from our hands, to guide us back to God up the ramp!
Bethany Olympics Field Day on Thursday! We represented China.
