Hard at work typing our measurement sculpture paragraphs on the Chromebooks as we prepare for Curriculum Fair!
Cross art
This year we chose what theme we wanted our cross art to be. We could either do a Lenten theme and write “Kyrie eleison” or an Easter theme and write “Alleluia”.

Jr. Achievement
At our first Jr. Achievement session we practiced both unit assembly and assembly line production. We quickly saw that an assembly produced more products! We also enjoyed tasting the real product, after we made pretend ones. :)

Family history assignment
In Social Studies we are learning about America's past and how many immigrants have made our country very unique. Please take this weekend to think about and discuss your family history with your child and also any traditions or customs that are special to your family. Please comment below with your answers to the following questions by 8:00am, Monday morning.
1. What countries are your ancestors from?
2. Do you know which family member(s) were immigrants? If so,
Who were they?
What year did they immigrate to America?
Why did they come to America?
Did they bring anything special with them to remind them of their homeland?
3. Are there any foods or traditions you and your family enjoy from your ancestor's countries? If so, what are they?
4. Choose 1 other custom or tradition that you and your family do and tell about it.

Solar System projects
We each chose a different planet, researched from several sources, took notes, and wrote a paragraph to teach about our planet. We also created a paper plate planet to show what it looks like. They are proudly hanging from our ceiling and we look forward to sharing them with you at Curriculum Fair!

St. Patrick's Day
After learning about who St. Patrick was, we played a fun strategy game called Leprechaun Luck. We all agreed that eating our game pieces at the end was our favorite part!
Two-digit subtraction with regrouping
We spent much of this week practicing two-digit subtraction with regrouping. We used dimes and pennies to act it out and then saw how to show in writing what we were acting out.
Day and Night experiment
In science we learned that Earth rotates counter-clockwise, which is why the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. We did an experiment to see if Earth rotated clockwise, would we still have day and night and would the sun still rise in the east.
